Let me start by saying… I am not a camper! Or rather… I wasn’t a camper! My husband used to say that my idea of roughing it was coming down from a five star resort to a three star. While I know he was having a bit of a joke at my expense, he wasn’t too far off the mark. He, on the other hand, has always loved the idea of caravanning and I did succumb to his request in 1996 when we took our two boys on a caravanning holiday around Australia for four months. We had a fabulous time, and I actually enjoyed it.
The years went by, careers expanded, and holidays were spent in luxurious resorts and destinations. Now, as we approach retirement, my husbands yearning for the caravan adventure was re-ignited.
Over the last few years we have been to the caravan shows and spent numerous weekends searching for the perfect van. I like to cook and favour the front kitchen. He likes to entertain and favours the front club lounge. Luckily for me, we could never find one that suited us both. That is, until we saw the Bailey range of vans. The scenic layout of the front lounge area was to him a match made in heaven. I had to agree that with the panoramic windows, it certainly was light, bright and very, very comfortable. Then my issue of the kitchen space was to be considered, and I had to concede that the kitchen in the Bailey really lived up to what I wanted in order to cook up a storm while travelling.
